Safestore are proud to be supporting the Big SleepOut again this year for the fourth time; simply because it saves lives. It’s a fun-filled evening that brings the community together. However, the main purpose of the event is to help build a greater understanding of homelessness, raise much needed funds and move towards ending homelessness.
‘The team at Trinity are tireless in their efforts to raise awareness of the issue and money to help those that it effects.’ – Dave Cox Director of Marketing at Safestore.
Last year the event raised over £165,000 and without those funds Trinity would not be able to do the amazing work that they do. Homelessness has gone up by 127% in London in the last 5 years, however, funding for homelessness provision in London has reduced.
By donating ‘beds’ for the evening, in the form of 1500 large cardboard boxes and plastic sheeting participants get a glimpse into what it is like to sleep rough in the winter.
This year we’re upping our commitment, we’ll not only be donating boxes and handing them out on the evening, but a group of Safestore Employees will be spending the night.
